Grandmaster Ki. C. Yoon worked as a trainer and a judge for the Korean presidential bodyguard program from 1974 – 1981.  He also trained the Korean military commandos 1195 Co.-5698 Co. to the black belt level from 1975 – 1981.  He was a member and head defensive / offensive instructor for the Seoul Korea West Police, as well as Chief judge for the West point military school in Seoul .

GRANDMASTER KI. C. YOON:  PhD,
10th Dan

As a young boy in Korea, Grandmaster Ki followed the traditional training style of Grandmaster Choi Yong Sul that included traditional martial training taught by the Buddhist monks. In 1983, Grandmaster Choi awarded Ki.C. Yoon with his 9th Dan black belt. 

 

The style or "kwan" of Hapkido is unique to each established Master. “Kum Moo Kwan” is the style of Hapkido founded by Grandmaster Ki, and is taught in 116 schools in Korea.

Grand Master Ki is certified in acupressure, acupuncture,  moxibustion,

and corrective exercise.   

With an encyclopaedic knowledge of pressure points on the human body, he is not only a teacher of the martial arts, but of the healing

arts and Traditional Chinese Medicine.

Grandmaster Ki. C. Yoon moved to Calgary in 1981 and established his first Canadian “dojang” (studio) teaching the art of Hapkido. 

Grandmaster Ki still lives in Calgary today.
